This second iteration of the Fergie Street North Fitzroy apartments retains the same 4 units. The fronts of the original buildings have been restored as in the first iteration, but the height and bulk of the rear units has been reduced due to town planning constraints imposed by the City of Yarra. These constraints demonstrate how planning authorities can impact on the innovation for high quality design in inner city residential developments. Nevertheless a good response to the constraints was achieved, but not as what would have been achieved in the first iteration.
